The Met Ball 2012: Best dressed...and the thanks for trying.

This past week I was excited to see some amazing costumes as the stars, designers, models and music artists, the who's who walked the red carpet live.  Thank you Vogue for streamlining live at the Met! (Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC).  It was pretty neat and makes me love technology even more.  If you don't know here's a little bit of what I am talking about.

Love Bruno Mars, anyways I am sure you seen some familiar faces.  But, let's talk red carpet shall we? I have few that I would like speak on that I thought deserved some major attention.

Paula Patton, in Vera Wang...the lilac color, the bodice of this dress speaks wonders.
Award for the best in soft color.

Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe...the head wrap, the cut of the back=perfection.
Award for Best in Originality.

Tim Tebow in Ralph Lauren Purple Label. Smh.  maybe it was the camera angle but, this was not it.  We are going to have pray on this one, dude.  The cut seems odd and baggy paints on a suit reminds me of Zoot suit. Eek.
Award for the worst tailoring to an athletic body.

Joan Smalls in Balmain with the Designer Oliver Rousteing.  It's like looking that 16th Chapel on a bronze body.
Award for Best in Craftsmanship.

January Jones in Atelier Versace, The mix of metal in the corseted  bodice and the construction fit on January is very nice.
Best Award for Architecture Design.

Beyonce Knowles, in Givenchy Couture.  Black and Indigo on this Greek, curvaceous body.  I can not say....anything but stare at her.
Best Award for SSA- Stop and Stare and Awe.

Lala Anthony in Zac Posen and Carmelo Anthony in Rag and Bone
Best Dressed Couple of the Night

Angela Lindvallin in Prada, Love the pattern and design of this.
Best Dressed in capturing Prada.

Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga with designer Nicolas Ghesquiere.
Best Award for WTH are you wearing? Yikes.

Dakota Fanning in Louis Vuitton.  Ummm...this isn't prom.
Best Award in mistaking high school prom to the Met Gala. :/

Elizabeth Banks in Mary Katrantzcu. ....I just not sure what to think of this.  She looks constrained.
Best Award for the uncomfortableness.

By the way, the Met Gala costume institute exhibit is entitled:  Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations:  two Italian designers: Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada  from different eras having a conversation about their design aesthetics, culture and themselves as a designer.  It's pretty neat.  They are somewhat different but, similar in their designs of pushing the limits on classic and traditional designs.  Elsa Schiaparelli is played by actress Judy Davis.

My top three favorite in the next post.....:0)
