Pre-Fall 13' Fave: Donna Karan

There's something very alluring about volume in fabrics.  I 'm seeing a lot of shapes forming this Pre-Fall 13' and it makes me wonder what's around the corner from my favorite fashion designers this season.  February just around the bend and NYFW will be set to run its course soon! I have to say that I fell in love Donna Karan pre-fall 13' looks.

So much so that I started prepping to illustrate two of my favorites tonight.

Loving the va, va, va volume to the coat and the crop jacket with the see through cutout dress. It is Divine!  Let the painting begin.  Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening readers
XOXO!

Sleek and Sexy design from one the best-Tom Ford Fall 2012

Sleek Design from a man who says he loves to build things and loves to create things.  A true perfectionist and it shows.   I love Tom Ford such an amazing visionary and an amazing creative mind.  A few years ago he had returned to designing womenswear and I was ridiculously excited and he did not disappointment. Check out my Last Tom Ford blog post

Inspirational:

In a sea of many great and talented fashion designers, Tom Ford is truly rare, creative fashion designer.   He's part of my list of my list of people that I would love to just sit and have coffee with.   And I don't even like coffee. ^_^

Oh, Tom. (Sigh)

I love him. No I really do. A man that knows how to dress a woman. A man that takes sexy to a whole new level. I looked forward to his collections, I am so, so, so happy he is back. Just look at him, look at him.
I mean who wouldn't want that waiting for them at home from a long days work.  Wow.  But, enough about his handsome, undeniable looks, his talent is what's a really turn on.  A director, a visionary, a fantastic designer and one of the true inspirational geniuses in the fashion world. (I love him)  I love the controversial campaigns for his men's line,  perfumes, sunglasses.

I love this one of Erykah Badu

But, man oh man when I saw the article in Vogue December magazine.....I died.

and these...

Oooooo...I got so excited.  I love the studio 54 look.  70's glamorous looks of Diana Ross and Cher...to die (Rachel Zoe's voice)  I am so excited to see more from him.  My fashion lover is back.  Be still my heart.

NYFW-Your Under Arrest, Gwen Stefani for Swagger Jacking

New York Fashion Week.  How I love to see the new, fresh fashions of tomorrow.  My usual top 10 designer collection I love to check out.
In no particular order:

Tracy Reese
Jason Wu
Carolina Herrera
DKNY
Marc Jacobs
Rodarte
Monique Lhuillier
Rachel Roy
Diane Von Fustenberg
did I mention Marc Jacobs.....oh ok. Well, nine.

I take a cyber pit stop at style.com (who now has this amazing "moving" section in which you could see the models walk and watch how the clothing moves which equals AWESOME) Anyways....I found myself stumbling across Gwen Stefani's Colleciton.  L.A.M.B.  Its an amazing label and one of the few labels (celebrity label) that I can really respect and love.  BUT....her first openers I found myself asking....haven't I seen those before.  The fabrics very afro-centric inspired.  The mixing of patterns...colorful.  Than it hit me.

Boxing Kitten

Resort 2010

yeah, that's B wearing Boxing Kitten

Alicia Keys and Beyonce Boxing Kitten

Designer and Brain Child, Maya Lake

Maya Lake, the designer/creator behind Boxing Kitten is a fantastic designer who literally has dressed the best of them.  Beyonce, Rihanna, Solange to just name a few.  I personally am all about color and patterns.  When you mix, afro centric patterns with explosion of color.  It's a win-win for me.

So when I saw this:

L.A.M.B. SP 2011

I thought "HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM"

Now that is not to say that I don't love Gwen Stefani because I do.  But, I when I see a designer inspiration stealing from other designers.  I have to question.  I mean, it could be a possibility that it really did not mean to happen this way.  Maybe Gwen Stafani and creative camp had really gotten inspiration from some of other source....but,  the similarities are sort of shocking.  Don't you think?  So, I just thought I put the arrest out there because, I love Boxing Kitten.  If you ask me, Boxing Kitten Collection is so much better :) (Shrug) just sayin.

Alexander McQueen...the man makes me SIC!!!

I am in love...no really, I am so in love with Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Fashion Show. This is wearable innovation in motion. Obviously, inspired by reptilian skins, Alexander McQueen took the inspiration and pushed to the limit no past the limit through the ceiling and beyond. I am in <3 br="br">
